Pablo Martín Caminero

Biography

Pablo Martín Caminero (Vitoria-Gasteiz). He finished his classical double bass studies at the Vienna School of Music in 1999. After this stage he moved to Madrid, where he began his professional career as a performer, composer, arranger and producer.

The diversity of musical styles in which he moves has led him to collaborate with artists and projects of various genres such as Jorge Pardo, Gerardo Núñez, Dhafer Youssef, Chano Domínguez, “Niño Josele”, Rocío Molina, Enrike Solinís, Rosario “La Tremendita”, Hippocampus and a long etcetera of jazz, flamenco and early music projects.

At the same time, this versatility has encouraged him to compose music for films (“Guadalquivir” 2013, “El Plan” 2020, etc.) and advertising campaigns since 2006.

He has released seven albums to date under his own name: “Doméstica” (BOST, 2005), “El Caminero” (BOST, 2011), “O.F.N.I.” (BOST, 2014), “Salto al vacío” (BOST, 2016), “Bost” (BOST, 2020) “Al toque” (KARONTE, 2021) and “Florilegio” (BOST 2024).

In 2016 he brought to the stage the show ‘Double Bach’ with the choreographer Antonio Ruz, in which he performs two suites by J.S. Bach in pizzicato. He has also collaborated with Antonio Ruz as symphonic composer in “Electra” for the Ballet Nacional de España, and as composer in “In Paradisum”. He also composed “A tu vera” and “Swoosh” for the National Dance Company.

In 2022 he is musical director of the show “Soleá” by the great dancer María Moreno. In March 2023 he is invited by the prestigious NDR BigBand in Hamburg, with which he performs with his trio a selection of his flamenco-jazz compositions, arranged by the artistic director of the Big Band Geir Lysne.

Currently he continues with his intense musical activity, through his own bands, as well as with the concerts of “Enrike Solinís & Euskal Barrokensemble”, Abe Rábade Trío, Fellini Quartet, “Bolita” Trío, Ana Morales, Moisés Sánchez Re- inventions, Daniel García Diego & Pablo Martín Caminero Recital 2.0, etc.

2024 – Florilegio

Florilegio es, a la vez, un concierto de jazz-flamenco y un recital de cante jerezano rancio, forjado en la plazuela de Jerez y con eco de voz ancestral.

2023 – Recital 2.0

Daniel García (piano) y Pablo Martín Caminero (contrabajo) son fundamentalmente conocidos por las facetas musicales que desarrollan en sus discos, la composición y la improvisación en un género al que podemos llamar Jazz Flamenco.
